Frequently Asked Questions

What do you charge per thousand stitches?

We base our price on complexity, not on stitchcount.

Why don't you charge per thousand stitches?

The price per thousand stitches has been a standard in the embroidery industry. The number of stitches can certainly have a direct reflection on an Embroiderer's Production Cost, but it has little to no effect on a Designer's Cost.

For Example: It would take three computer inputs to produce a 2" fill circle, and there would be about 3500 stitches to the object. To create a 4" circle would also require the same number (three) of computer inputs, and there would be about 13,500 stitches in this object. A 5mm tall uppercase "A" would require roughly 16 computer inputs, and there would be less than 50 stitches to this object.

Additionally, the small lettering usually requires more test runs and fine-tuning than a simple fill area would. As well, artistic features, such as drop shadows and shading work require a lot thought and time to do properly, but require very few final stitches.

Do you use auto digitized files?

No! We do not use any auto digitizing features in our software to create any files. Each logo and image are created manually, including all text.

Can I edit the digitized files?

While there is software which will allow you to do minor alterations such as output stitchout resizing, we recommend they not be used. When we digitize files, we set them for very specific sizes, fabrics & alignments. Using outside software to resize the sewout file will often misalign these settings.

Note: There will be a edit fee to correct files which have been altered by other sources or means.

Why Do I need different files for different types of sewouts?

We digitize our files according to the specific sewout requirements. Different backing materials require different settings and sew paths for optimal sewout quality and alignment.

What is your turnaround time?

We will always work with your schedule & deadlines, just let us know what your needs are.  In general we do our best to maintain an approximate turnaround time of 72 hours whenever possible on most jobs. However, complexity of designs, as well as other digitizing projects in queue may mean additional time is needed. We will inform you at the time when booking as to the accurate period in which the file will be ready.

What if I need a rush job done?

We will gladly accommodate any rush jobs.  Rush charges will only be applied if our job queue is full.

Do you offer product sewouts to the general public?

No. We do not offer any production sewouts in-house. We can however create the files which you make take to your local embroiderer.
